FAQs For New Cleaners

Do I have to pay a fee to join SprucedUp?
Nope, not at all. When you’ve signed up with us, we will send you a welcome kit containing the following:
  • Personalized welcome card from Manny Sidhu, Director at SprucedUp
  • A set of Koala cleaning products
  • Your set of two SprucedUp t-shirts (free!) if you opted to get them when signing up
What all do I need in order to work with SprucedUp?
Our vision at SprucedUp is to keep things extremely simple so you can focus on what you do best. No printing required, no hassles.

Here’s what you require to apply:
  • An ABN. You can get one for free with the ABR (). Sometimes there’s a bit of a lag in the system and it can take a few days for your ABN to be visible to us. Please note you need an ABN before you can apply. Our application system will run your name and ABN against the ABR and won’t let you proceed to the next step if your ABN isn’t active yet. Make sure you enter in your full name exactly as you did when you applied for the ABN.
  • A copy of your passport or government issued ID. This can be any country’s passport or government issues identification
  • A copy of your working visa, permanent residency, citizenship or Australian birth certificate. Please note full details must be clearly visible including any expiration dates (for visas). Working holiday/backpacker/student visas are fine too, these visas need to have a minimum of 6 months of validity
  • Police check. This needs to be an Australian police check. You can upload one you already have, needs to be no more than 6 months old. Alternatively, you can get a new one done here (insert link here)
How do I send you these documents?
Easy. You can take pictures using your mobile phone and attach them to the application process as you run through the steps in the Join the crew! link. Alternatively, you can use a computer to do the same thing however you’ll need the pictures on the computer. We think using your mobile phone to complete the application process works best. Entirely up to you whether you use a phone or a computer.
What if I run into any issues with the application process?
Simples. Just send us an email to support@sprucedup.com.au detailing the problem you’re facing and we’ll help you out. With SprucedUp, you’ll be treated like family.

How do I contact you?
SprucedUp is an online platform only, we don’t use phones to contact you or our customers. Most of your queries should be answered via these FAQs. If there’s anything you’re unclear about, feel free to send us an email to support@sprucedup.com.au and we’ll respond to your email in minutes. Yes, minutes, not hours! You’ll always be looked after when working with SprucedUp. Guaranteed.
What sort of money can I expect to make while working with you?
$23/hour for the first 60 calendar days and $26/hour after the first 60 calendar days. We pay some of the best rates in the cleaning industry. Didn’t we say we look after you!
How often do I get paid?
You will be paid weekly. We will transfer via our bank every Wednesday and the money should get into your account on Thursday or Friday the same week. The transfer will be titled SprucedUp wages followed by the week.
I’m eager to start working, how long does it take to actually start?
We’ve seen it usually takes 1 – 3 days to get you set up with SprucedUp, however it can take much less time too depending on whether you have an active ABN and valid police check already. Some cleaners have been ready to start in hours! Let us remind you again, you’ll be looked after with SprucedUp!.
What cleaning equipment do I have to provide?
The usuals:
  • Vacuum cleaner (customers may ask you to use theirs, in that case use theirs)
  • Steam cleaner (not required for every job, the booking will contain information of whether customers have requested the steam clean add-on)
  • Mop and bucket
  • Sponges and drying/dusting cloths
  • Small step ladder (not required for every job)
  • Anything else you prefer using
Do you prefer to use any specific cleaning products?
We allow the customer to choose to use Koala’s cleaning products for a small $5 fee. This fee will be added to the booking so all you got to do is use these products when doing the booking.
Note: always read the label on the product before using it on anything in the customer’s property..
Can I choose suburbs I can work in?
Totally. With us, you’re free to choose which suburbs you want to work in. You can choose a local suburb, the CBD or all over Melbourne. The system will always offer you jobs in your preferred areas.
